About Us

Eddie's Bait Company was founded in the late 1940s by Eddie Ostling, a local guide and avid muskie angler. Eddie produced a hardwood gliding jerk bait which has caught many a muskie over the years. Known as the original Eddie's Bait, it was produced in 6 1/2" and 8" sizes, in multiple colors such as sucker, frog and black, which are still being made today.

The second owner, Dave Dorazio and the third owner, John Bloom, produced new models such as "Surf-n-Ed", "Jointed Ed" and a 4 1/2" versions which are no longer marketed.

The fourth generation of owners, "The Bobs", Bob Schuster and Bob Borski, added "Little Eddie, a 4 1/2" model which is deadly on Northern Pike, Bass in early season Muskie.  The 6 1/2" and 8" "Curly Ed" and "Squirrelly Ed" were produced in 2012 and they also introduced a 6 1/2" jointed model, a series of Bucktails as well as other fish-catching lures in addition to many new fish-attracting colors, new sizes and new models. These versions are no longer marketed.

The Eddie's Bait has been, and still is, one of the top muskie lures for thousands of anglers for over 60 years and is now in the fifth generation of ownership.

Today, as always, Eddie's Baits are turned, painted and assembled from quality components in Hayward, Wisconsin, the Muskie Capital of the World!
